About Nirit Ziv-Wexler
Nirit Ziv Wexler is an Israeli classical guitarist, arranger, and composer whose work blends tradition with innovation. With a Master of Music from the Yale School of Music and a Bachelor of Music from the Jerusalem Academy of Music, she has cultivated a diverse career as a performer, collaborator, and creative artist.
Nirit has performed widely across the United States and Israel, appearing both as a soloist and alongside other musicians in chamber and cross-genre projects. Her unique approach to arrangement has led to collaborations with artists from various musical backgrounds, where she brings classical technique into dialogue with contemporary and world styles.
In 2018, she released the album “Guitar Arrangements of Miguel Llobet”, a collaboration with American-Belarusian guitarist Elina Chekan. The album offers a refined interpretation of Llobet’s works and highlights Nirit’s ability to honor tradition while bringing fresh insight.
Over the past decade, Nirit has turned increasingly toward composition, developing a personal voice rooted in her classical background but shaped by broad musical curiosity. Since 2020 she has released several original singles for guitar solo and ensemble music, further expanding her creative footprint.
Nirit is a recipient of awards , scholarships and Grants from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, the Yale School of Music, and recently from ACUM, supporting her artistic development and international projects.
In addition to her musical career, Nirit is also an active visual artist. Her visual work explores themes of emotion, memory, and transformation, often drawing inspiration from the natural world and musical forms. She works primarily in mixed media, combining charcoal drawing, and oil or acrylic on canvas painting. Her creative process in both music and visual art is deeply interconnected, with each medium informing and enriching the other.
